Shri Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister, Bihar on Sunday visited the site of archaeological remains at Guwaridih village in Bhagalpur district of Anga Pradesh. Antiquities have been estimated to be older than 2500 years. He said that the Koshi river will be diverted to original mainstream for excavation and conservation of archaeological site. He recognized the Guwaridih as a mythological and historical site, which will be fully developed in coming days as an important archaeological and tourism sites. He assured of the fact that after getting the complete information here after excavation, not only the state but entire country & world will be made aware of it. The Chief Minister was informed that the archaeological materials received are the remains of Krishna Lohit Mridbhand Culture, Uttari Krishna Marjit Mridbhand Culture, Maurya and Kushan era culture, and Gupta and Gupteshwar era culture. He also briefed about the materials exhibited such as terracotta, copper fund, embroidery, designed handles, jewellery,clay beads, copper currency, seal, organic fossil,tool, iron metallurgy, Batkhara, spouted pitcher, pottery, Shila Lodha, triangular brick, red pottery.

बिहार व झारखंड के अंग-प्रदेश में मिले करोड़ों साल पहले के जैव जीवाश्मों की प्रामाणिकता के आधार पर अंग सभ्यता को विश्व की प्राचीनतम सभ्यता सिद्ध करने वाले और इसी विषय पर 400 पृष्ठों की पुस्तक, "विश्व की प्राचीनतम सभ्यता" के लेखक व प्रसिद्ध पुरातत्वविद्, पंडित अनूप कुमार वाजपेयी के अनुसार बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार द्वारा गुवारीडीह में रविवार को सभ्यता के साक्ष्य से रू-बरू होने की घटना एक खोये इतिहास को पाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण ऐतिहासिक कदम है ।

यहाँ मिललो पुरावशेष केरौ 2500 बर्षो सँ भी पुरानौ होय के अनुमान छै । 

 

मुख्यमंत्री नँ कहलकै कि गुवारीडीह मँ पुरातात्विक अवशेष के उत्खनन आरू संरक्षण लेली कोसी के धार क मोड़लो जैतै यहाँकरो पूरा जानकारी मिलला के बाद खाली राज्य ही नै देश दुनिया क भी एकरा सँ अवगत करैलो जैतै । मुख्यमंत्री नँ मानलकै कि गुवारीडीह एगो पौराणिक व ऐतिहासिक स्थल छेकै, जेकरा बढ़ियाँ सँ विकसित करलो जैतै ।

मुख्यमंत्री श्री नीतीश कुमार ने आज भागलपुर जिले के नवगछिया अनुमंडल अंतर्गत बिहपुर अंचल के गुवारीडीह में पुरातात्विक स्थल का भ्रमण किया। मुख्यमंत्री ने भ्रमण के दौरान गुवारीडीह ग्राम से प्राप्त पुरातात्विक अवशेषों का बारीकी से मुआयना किया ।

 

गौरतलब है कि यहाँ से प्राप्त अवशेष ताम्र-पाषाणिक संस्कृति के हो सकते हैं। जानकारों की मानें तो प्राचीन चम्पा एवं गुवारीडीह के बीच परस्पर किसी न किसी प्रकार के व्यापारिक और सांस्कृतिक संबंध भी रहे होंगे ।

 

इस दौरान बिहार हेरिटेज डेवलपमेंट सोसायटी के एग्जिक्यूटिव डायरेक्टर डॉ. विजय कुमार चौधरी ने अवशेषों के संबंध में विस्तृत जानकारी दी । जानकारी के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री को बताया गया कि प्राप्त पुरातात्विक सामग्रियों में कृष्ण लोहित मृदभांड संस्कृति, उत्तरी कृष्ण मार्जित मृदभांड संस्कृति, मौर्य एवं कुषाण कालीन संस्कृति, तथा गुप्त एवं गुप्तेश्वर कालीन संस्कृति के अवशेष हैं। उन्होंने प्रदर्शित सामग्रियों यथा टेराकोटा, ताम्रनिधि, कढ़ाई, डिजाइनदार हैंडल, आभूषण, मिट्टी के मनके, ताम्र मुद्रा, मुहर, जैविक जीवाश्म, औजार, लौह धातुमल, वाट, टोंटीदार घड़ा, मृदभांड, शिलालोढ़ा, त्रिकोणीय ईंट, लाल मृदभांड के संबंध में भी विस्तार पूर्वक जानकारी दी। गवारीडीह में प्राप्त अवशेषों में उत्तरी कृष्ण मार्जित मृदभांड संस्कृति और कृष्ण लोहित मृदभांड संस्कृति की बहुलता है जो इसके ताम्र-पाषाणिक संस्कृति की संभावनाओं को लक्षित करते हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने खुदाई स्थल तथा नदी के तटीय किनारों का निरीक्षण कर अधिकारियों को आवश्यक निर्देश दिए ।

 

पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि विधायक श्री शैलेन्द्र जी ने मुझे सूचना दी थी कि यहाँ पौराणिक चीजें मिली हैं जिनके ऐतिहासिक प्रमाण है। एक्सपोर्ट की टीम ने भी अपनी प्रारंभिक रिपोर्ट में इस बात की पुष्टि की है कि यह ऐतिहासिक स्थल है। हमने तय किया था कि हम खुद इसे देखने आयेंगे। मुझे यहाँ आकर लगा कि वास्तव में यह एक पौराणिक और ऐतिहासिक जगह है। यहाँ से मिले अवशेष 2500 वर्ष से पहले के भी हो सकते हैं। इसके बारे में सबको जानकारी होनी चाहिए ।

 

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि कोसी नदी की धारा को डाइवर्ट किया जाएगा ताकि यह पूरा इलाका सुरक्षित रह सके। खुदाई के पश्चात यहाँ और कई पौराणिक चीजों के होने की जानकारी मिल सकती है। इस जगह की खुदाई करके एक्सपर्ट देखेंगे कि कहाँ-कहाँ से पौराणिक चीजें मिल रही हैं। इससे यह भी पता चलेगा कि इसका क्षेत्र कहाँ तक फैला हुआ है। यहाँ से मिले अवशेषों का अध्ययन करने के बाद इस इलाके को ऐतिहासिक स्थल के रूप में विकसित किया जाएगा। इस ऐतिहासिक स्थल को विकसित करने से लोग अपने पुराने इतिहास को जान सकेंगे। यहाँ की पूरी जानकारी मिलने के बाद राज्य ही नहीं देश दुनिया को भी इससे अवगत कराया जाएगा ।

 

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि कोसी के कटाव को रोकने के लिए कोसी नदी की धारा को पुरानी धारा की तरफ ले जाना जरूरी है जिसे लेकर योजना तैयार कर आगे का कार्य किया जाएगा ।

 

शाहकुंड में प्रतिमा मिलने को लेकर पत्रकारों के पूछे गए सवाल के जवाब में मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि वहाँ भी एक्सपर्ट को भेजा गया है।  एक्सपर्ट की रिपोर्ट मिलने के बाद आगे की कार्रवाई की जाएगी ।

The Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today visited the archaeological site at Guwardih in Bihpur zone under Navagachya mandal of Bhagalpur district. The Chief Minister closely inspected the archaeological remains received from Guwardih village during the visit.

It may be recalled that the relics derived from here may be of copper-stone culture. As for the peers, there must have been some kind of trade and cultural relations between the ancient Champa and Guvaridih.

 

Meanwhile , Vijay Kumar Chaudhary , executive director , Bihar Heritage Development Society, shared detailed information on the archaeological remains. The Chief Minister was informed that the archaeological materials received are the remains of Krishna Lohit Mridbhand Culture, Uttari Krishna Marjit Mridbhand Culture, Maurya and Kushan era culture, and Gupta and Gupteshwar era culture. He also briefed about the materials exhibited such as terracotta, copper fund, embroidery, designed handles, jewellery,clay beads, copper currency, seal, organic fossil, tool, iron metallurgy, Batkhara, spouted pitcher, pottery, Shila Lodha, triangular brick, red pottery. The relics found in Gavaridih are a multiplicity of Uttari Krishna Marjit Mridbhand Culture and Krishna Lohit Mridbhand Culture which indicate towards the possibilities of its being copper-stone culture.The Chief Minister inspected the excavation site and the coastal banks of the river and issued necessary instructions to the officers.

Talking to reporters, the chief minister said that MLA Shri Shilendra Ji had informed him that mythological things were found which have historical evidence. The expert team has also confirmed in its preliminary report that it is a historical site. We decided that we would come to see it ourselves. I came here to know that it was really a mythical and historical place. The remains found here are estimated to be of more than 2500 years old. Everybody should be aware of it.

 

The chief minister said that the Kosi River section will be diverted so that the entire area can remain safe. After excavation, information about many more mythological facts may be come out. The expert will also observe to locate the mythological things in the course of excavation. This will also reveal how far its area is spread. After studying the remains found here, the locality will be developed as a historical site. Developing this historical site will enable people to know their old history. After getting all the information here, the country will also be apprised of the world.
 

The chief minister said that in order to prevent the site from erosion of Kosi, it is necessary to divert the Kosi river section towards the old stream, which will be planned and further worked out.

Replying to a question of journalists on the statue of Vratya Mahadev found during excavation at Shahkund, the chief minister said that the expert has also been sent there. Appropriate action will be taken once the expert's report is received.

During the visit, the Minister of Water Resources , Shri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary , MPShri Ajay Mandal, MLA engineer Kumar Shailendra, MLA Shri Pawan Kumar Yadav,other public representatives including former legislative councillor Shri Sanjay Singh,Principal Secretary , Water Resources Shri Chaitanya Prasad, Commissioner Bhagalpur Division Smt Vandana Kini, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Anupam Kumar, Special Task Officer of the Chief Minister Shri Gopal Singh, ExecutiveDirector, Bihar Heritage Development Society, Dr. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, DistrictMagistrate, Bhagalpur, Shri Pranav Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bhagalpur Range, Shri Sujit Kumar, Preferred Superintendent ofPolice, Bhagalpur, Shri Ashish Bharti,Superintendent

According to Pandit Anup Kumar Vajpayee, the noted Archaeologist,Dumka, Jharkhand, the organic fossils found here are of deer. He further adds, "It is clear from the evidence found in the Ang area, such as mud-made Seals, different types of pots, etc., that the Anga people were far behind in the development race as compared to modern civilization."
