अंगिका व्याकरण, अंगिका भाषा, अंगिका वर्तनी, अंगिकांजलि, अंगिका और भोजपुरी भाषाओं का तुलनात्मक अध्ययन, हिंदी और अंगिका का अंतर्संबंध आदि अपनी श्रेष्ठ कृतियों से डॉ. पांडेय ने अंगिका का भंडार समृद्ध कर दिया. परमानंद पांडेय को इस सदी का सर्वश्रेष्ठ भाषा वैज्ञानिक मानकर उनकी उपलब्धियों पर आज गर्व किया जा रहा है.
सिद्ध कवियों की भाषा पर विचार करते हुए भाषाविद् डाॅ. डोमन साहु समीर ने अपने लेख ‘सिद्ध साहित्य, अंग जनपद और अंगिका भाषा’ में लिखा है कि सभी सिद्ध कवियों की कविताओं में आधुनिक अंगिका भाषा के प्राचीन रूप सुरक्षित हैं जो आधुनिक अंगिका के एकदम निकट हैं।
लगभग 5 करोड़ लोगों की भाषा अंगिका मुख्य रूप से प्राचीन अंग यानि भारत के उत्तर-पूर्वी एवं दक्षिण बिहार, झारखंड, बंगाल, आसाम, उङीसा और नेपाल के तराई के इलाक़ों मे बोली जानेवाली भाषा है। यह प्राचीन भाषा कम्बोडिया, वियतनाम, मलेशिया आदि देशों में भी प्राचीन समय से बोली जाती रही है।
The people in Arra, Buxar and Kaimur districts speak Bhojpuri while the residents of Patna, Nalanda and Gaya speak Magahi and the same of Munger and Bhagalpur speak Angika. But all these regional languages have strong similarity with Hindi, which is the state’s common language.
